Indiana is called the ‘Heart of the Midwest’ by some and the “Crossroads of America” by others.

The landscape has more variety than most imagine and the people are noted for their hospitality.

People visit Indiana to enjoy its parks, museums, festivals and more.  You will find tourist attractions and activities in all parts of the state.

Many of Indiana’s treasured secrets can be discovered while touring the caverns, enjoying the covered bridges, or exploring the scenery of the Indiana Dunes which runs nearly 25 miles along southern Lake Michigan and has beaches, sand dunes, wetlands and woodland forests.

And of course, the Indianapolis 500 is a ‘must’ for those who appreciate speed demons. It was built in 1909 and is the giant of motorsport venues, hosting the Indy 500, Brickyard 400, United States Grand Prix, and many more.

There is hiking, horseback riding, and bicycling for the outdoors type.

For museum lovers, Indiana is a treasure trove with art museums, history museums and science museums.  One of my favorites is the Indianapolis Museum of Art with great collections and beautiful gardens in which to unwind.  And don’t miss The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis which is as much fun for adults as kids.

This only skims the surface of things to see and do while on vacation in Indiana.
