Michigan is a great state for the water lover.  Two Great Lakes, Michigan and Superior offer excellent freshwater beaches for those looking to take part in water sports or just relaxing in the sun. Michigan’s attractions range From beautiful waterfalls to marvels of mankind, museums, water parks, wineries, the Soo Locks, lighthouses and much more.

If you visit the Upper Peninsula, you will find attractions such as what some consider to be the “8th wonder of the world, the Mackinac Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in the western Hemisphere with 7,400 feet of highway suspended over the Straits of Mackinac with Lake Michigan to the west and Lake Huron to the east. There are also a number of winter sports such as skiing, skating and winter nature hiking.

In Northeast Michigan, there is Marquette Mission Park and Museum of Ojibwa Culture.  In Northwest Michigan, the historic town of Berrien Springs. And in the south, the cities of Detroit and Ann Arbor, with its Museum of Natural History on the grounds of the University of Michigan.

In Detroit you will find all the amenities of a large city with excellent restaurants, museums, shopping and night life. While there you may visit the Motown Historical Museum, the Museum of Contemporary art or the Detroit Science Center. Detroit has its share of rough spots, but the truth of the matter is that there are many areas both within the City itself, and in the surrounding metropolitan area, that are vibrant, progressive, and just a lot of fun.

This only skims the surface of what there to see and do in Michigan.
