Why vacation in Missouri?

The state of Missouri is in the Midwest, between Kansas and Illinois.

When you vacation is Missouri, you can  check out internationaly known landmarks such as the St. Louis Arch, or visit other Missouri attractions such as the natural beauty of the Ozarks, the underground wonder of Missouri’s caverns, or listen to the sounds of Branson’s country music.

And where else can you see a wiener dog derby?

From art fairs and wineries, to barbeques and festivals, Missouri offers travelers many reasons to plan a trip there.

And why go all the way to New Orleans when there is Mardi Gras right in St. Louis?  This Mardi Gras festival in St. Louis’ historic Soulard neighborhood offers wine tasting, great local cuisine, a pet parade and wiener dog derby, fabulous parades and more.

See, I told you there was a weiner dog derby.

Missouri is rich in outdoor recreation. There are hundreds of natural areas, state parks, and the Mark Twain National Forest lands, where you are sure to find a location to engage in your favorite outdoor activity. And the historic river towns on the Mississippi River are home to regional arts and crafts, featuring everything from modern art to handmade, rustic furniture.

If you prefer an urban vacation, St. Louis offers the Gateway Arch, the St. Louis Zoo, Busch Stadium, the Missouri Botanical Gardens, excellent restaurants, museums, shopping and night life.

This only skims the surface of things to see and do in Missouri.
