Why vacation in New Hampshire?

New Hampshire was the first state to break free of colonial rule and forge its own constitution, a revolutionary history evident in its state motto, “live free or die.”

From the White Mountains in the north of New Hampshire through the Lakes Region to the state’s Atlantic seacoast, the Granite State is a vacationland of outdoor adventures and city charm. Throughout the state, visitors can find the best of New England with small towns made for strolling, dining, and shopping. There are exciting snow sports, lots of attractions for families and the ocean’s white beaches with charming port towns and cities.

New Hampshire has year-round appeal with a wide variety of attractions. Whatever your choice, New Hampshire has it all. There is hiking, biking, swimming, fishing and skiing to name but a few. Manchester, the state’s largest city, boasts a healthy arts community, shopping, good restaurants and several educational institutions for visitors to explore.

New Hampshire has lovely fall foliage, covered bridges and a wealth of historic and cultural sites. Take the Conway Scenic Railroad, drive the Kancamungus scenic byway or even Kayak in Pawtuckaway State Park. Near Loon Mountain? Then take the gondola ride. If you’re in Concord or Portsmouth, spend a day in great museums and historical houses.

This only skims the surface of what there is to see and do in New Hampshire.
