Why vacation or holiday in Colorado?
Colorado may surprise all who visit the first time.
The sheer number of activieties, events, and fun things to do and see can be overwhelming.
You will find such things as hot air ballooning, off-roading, bike tours, snowmobiles, dog sledding, fishing, sailing, boating, and big game hunting.
Denver offers all the amenities of a large city with museums and a jumping night life. While in Denver you may want to visit such attractions as the Molly Brown House Museum, the Colorado Railroad Museum, or the Denver Botanic Gardens which have the most significant botanical collections in the Rocky Mountain Region.
In Durango you may visit such attractions as Mesa Verde National Park, Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, and Vallecito Lake.
Travel to the Airforce Academy at Colorado Springs or visit Pike’s Peak. Colorado’s landscape includes spectacular mountains and high plains, secluded pine forests and open grassland.
And for the unusual, don’t forget the Cave of the Winds near Colorado Springs. It is open all year and one of the best caving tours in America. It gets my personal recommendation as an amateur spelunker.
There is so much to do in Colorado that you should plan more than a weekend. I spent that much time just at the cave.
There is Garden of the Gods, Gates Planetarium at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, the Manitou Cliff Dwellings, and even the North Pole, just west of Colorado Springs.
This article only skims the surface of what there is to do in Colorado.

I am planning a week trip with my family. We want to go in October. We are primarily interested in seeing some spectacular fall colors, were in Colorado can we see the most natural fall splendor and is it better to go early in the month of late.
Thank you.
I probably can’t do much better than this, a foliage guide for Colorado and by region.
