Why vacation in Ohio?
Come to Ohio and see the giraffes and rhinos. Well, that’s one thing you can do in the Buckeye State. “The Wilds” in the eastern part of the state is a refuge for many endangered African species.
Ohio has too much for just a day trip. You can visit boutique wineries, find world class museums, experience the world’s largest roller coaster park, enlighten yourself at some of the best science museums in the country and with all five major league sports represented, cheer on a team. Or you may explore the culture of the Amish in central Ohio, home of the world’s largest Amish community, where you can enjoy beautiful scenery, visit an Amish farm, savor homemade foods and listen for the clip-clop of a buggy. Or do you favor the excitement of large cities? Ohio has many to choose from with Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Akron, Dayton, Toledo, Canton (home of the Pro-Football Hall of Fame) and more. Learn about Ohio’s first people by visiting the ancient Serpent Mound or explore the first settlement of the Northwest Territory in historic Marietta. Enjoy Appalachian Ohio’s natural beauty by visiting state parks or forests such as the Hocking Hills, home to breathtaking sandstone formations. Midwestern Ohio has endless vistas of grain fields, and its own kind of charm. Ohio is really two states with two distinct cultures, with the near mountainous Appalachian Plateau in the east and the Midwestern American Plains in the west.
This only skims the surface of what there is to see and do in Ohio.
