Pennsylvania is called the Keystone State and was so named for its role in the Revolutionary War. It was the geographic center of the thirteen original colonies. Today it is the center of a great vacation experience.

From Philadelphia, the birthplace of American Independence and home of the Liberty Bell to Pittsburgh, where two rivers meet to form the Ohio, Pennsylvania is full of things to see and do.  Philadelphia has Independence National Historical Park, many museums, parks and gardens and a thriving cultural scene. Pittsburgh has museums, the Science Center, Pittsburgh Zoo, the National Aviary, river cruises, floating nightclubs, and panoramic views from the surrounding hills. There are the Appalachian and Pocono Mountains for winter sports and skiing. The mountains offer four seasons of endless fun and a tremendous variety of diversions, such as luxurious resorts, family attractions, outdoor adventures, bed and breakfasts and more. Pennsylvania Dutch Country offers great food along with its traditional Amish lifestyle. There is the Civil War Battlefield at Gettysburg along with the Eisenhower farm and home.  And while you are near Hershey, enjoy some chocolate and a great theme park. If wilderness is more to your liking, there is the Allegheny National Forest with its lure of heading into the woods and losing yourself.

And check out Gravity Hill where autos roll uphill and water flows the same way. This interesting phenomenon may have a bit to do with optical illusions. But regardless of the cause of the strangeness, it is still a very interesting place to visit and best of all, it is completely free.

This only skims the surface of what there is to see and do in Pennsylvania.
